Reflexology is a gentle, holistic therapy based on the idea that specific points on the feet and hands correspond to different areas of the body. By applying focused pressure to these reflex points, reflexology encourages relaxation, supports balance, and helps the body’s natural healing processes. It works on both a physical and emotional level, offering a deeply calming and restorative experience.
-
Reflexology can support a wide range of concerns, including stress, tension, emotional wellbeing, sleep issues, hormonal balance, pregnancy, and chronic conditions. Many people also choose reflexology simply to relax and reconnect with themselves. While it is not a medical treatment, it can be a supportive and complementary therapy alongside conventional care.
-
Your session will begin with a short consultation to understand how you’re feeling and what you’d like support with. You’ll then relax comfortably while gentle pressure is applied to your feet or hands. Sessions are calm, nurturing, and tailored to your individual needs. Many clients leave feeling deeply relaxed, grounded, and more balanced.
-
This varies from person to person and depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people feel benefits after just one session, while others find regular treatments more supportive, especially for ongoing or chronic concerns. We can discuss what feels right for you and adjust as needed.

Reflexology is generally a gentle and safe therapy for most people. However, there are certain situations where it may need to be adapted or postponed, such as during the first trimester of pregnancy, if you have certain medical conditions, or if you are experiencing acute illness or infection. This is why a full consultation is carried out before your session, ensuring your treatment is always tailored to your individual needs and wellbeing.
-
There’s very little you need to do to prepare for your session. Simply arrive as you are. It can be helpful to wear comfortable clothing and avoid tight trousers or leggings, as your feet or hands will be the main focus of the treatment. You may also wish to avoid heavy meals just before your session and drink plenty of water afterwards to support the body’s natural processes.
-
There are times when it may be best to delay or adapt your reflexology session to ensure it is safe and appropriate for you.
Please let me know in advance if you:
Have a contagious illness (such as flu, fever, or a stomach bug)
Have an infection, inflammation, or open wounds on the feet or hands
Are experiencing severe pain, swelling, or an undiagnosed condition
Have recently had surgery or a medical procedure
Are in the first trimester of pregnancy (unless discussed beforehand)
Reflexology may also need to be postponed or adapted if you have foot or hand conditions such as athlete’s foot, verrucas, warts, cuts, blisters, or broken skin. In some cases, hand reflexology may be offered instead of foot work.
If you’re unsure whether reflexology is suitable for you, please get in touch — I’m always happy to advise and ensure your session is safe and supportive.
